Osechi 2024 -Japanese New Year’s Bento

Happy New Year!
We hope you all have started a good one.

This year, we started with traditional Japanese new year’s foods which is called Osechi Ryori お節料理 as my son desperately wanted to eat it on the first of January.

It’s not easy to get authentic fresh ingredients in Barcelona but we managed to make them from scratch.

The sashimi salmon was marinated with beetroot and soya sauce, and orange zest was garnished.

This dish is not traditional new year’s food but, you might have know that in Japan, red colour is believed to be a lucky colour, so this would be good for Osechi, I think!

And the boys were appreciating authentic Sake for their first experience 🙂

Wishing you all the best for 2024.
