Steamed Watarigani (Flower Crab), Prawn & Shungiku (Japanese Tang Oh) Sesame Salad

We love Tiong Bahru Market and it is my joy to buy fresh seafood from fish stalls that are my favourite.

The other day, I bought some Flower crabs and chose female as that is meatier than male.

This part of the shape is the one how to check the gender of flower crabs. This shape means it is female.

In that day, we were very busy and no time to cook the dinner in the normal time, so I made a quick dinner in late time. It should be healthier and low calories as it was late!
So I steamed the crab and took out brown and white meat, and made a soup using the leftover shells and thin legs.

Beautiful.

Also luckily I found very Japanese vegetable that is called Shungiku 春菊 in Japan in a superstore.

Its stalks and leaves were slightly thinner than authentic Japanese one, but the taste was almost same! Then I made a salad with prawn.

Very simple and super healthy but tasty light dinner 🙂

The crab meat are wrapped with pickled Daikon. Crunchiness of Daikon and juicy flavourful crab, aw bliss!!

We all appreciated the harvests of mother nature.

Gochiso sama deshita!

Have a lovely day 🙂
