Hiroshima-style Pork Okonomiyaki

There are two different styles in Okonomiyaki in Japan -Osaka-style and Hiroshima-style.
Both are named by the name of originated place.

If I would simply say their differences, Osaka-style is savoury pancake that is made of flour, cabbage and some more vegetables plus meat or cheese, and Hiroshima-style is layers of eggs, sliced pork, noodles and vegetables.

When I was a child, my parents often cook Osaka-style one using a large electric table pan particularly in weekend’s dinner.

Still I like it, but now I’ve been eager to cook Hiroshima one rather than pancake since noodles are more attractive for my young children. Also their full stomach can last longer than pancakes! lol

The boys drew their presentations by themselves 🙂

Now, we are planning to put this hearty moreish Japanese food in our cooking class menu.

Please keep your eyes on our website and we will announce the new schedule of November soon.
Hope to see you soon!
