Wintery vegetable

Spring has come little by little in Cornwall.
​I really love this beautiful and lively season.
In these day I found the fresh mooli at the local store. 
That’s quite familiar root vegetable for winter in Japan.

I stood in the kitchen as always and decided to cook the Very Japanese dish. 

​Simmered Mackerel in Miso Sauce (鯖の味噌煮)
Very typical Japanese family dish.
The mackerel and mooli which are simmered in Miso sauce are extremely tender and have rich flavour.

Meanwhile I cooked the pickled salad with mooli and lotus root.
Wintery vegetable combination.

I enjoyed these winter dishes with hoping spring is getting close.
